Pastor Mike Hefner has worked in the automotive industry for 37 years.  He's been married to Jandal since 1977 and together they have two daughters, Julie and Kathryn. 

Pastor Mike answered God’s call to pastor in 1989 while on a mission trip to Kenya. His great passion for missions, participating in more than 20 Work & Witness trips with the Church of the Nazarene, coupled with his missional philosophy carries over into his daily life and his direction for the church.   He has been serving the Highland Church of the Nazarene as lead pastor since 1995.

While God called Mike to preach, he did not call him to leave his secular employment.   Scripturally he follows Paul’s example as a "tentmaker." Today the official word for how Pastor Mike lives is Bi-Vocational.   In reality, what takes place daily is that Pastor Mike ministers to those in the church and in the “real world."
